Our last full day at Plas! The good news is we have all survived and are all in one piece! The bad news is that we have to leave and return home tomorrow.

Today was an early start; however the sun was rising beautifully. We had our breakfast, chose our evening meal and met with our team leader to discuss our itinerary.

All four groups walked a variety of mountains. Miss Tudor’s group walked up a mountain, through a forest and the children loved seeing the quartz stones scattered around. They then walked along a river with rapids and overhead flew a buzzard with a snake in its beak! The children were amazed.

Mrs Hunt’s group enjoyed a walk up Crimpiau Mountain. They had lunch at the top looking at the beautiful views Plas has to offer such as Mount Snowdon. They then began the descent which was a little bit tricky; however they worked well as a team to reach the bottom. They then walked along the bottom mountain path, over a stream surrounded by a lot of sheep.

Miss Jones’ group took a lovely walk from the grounds to their mountain. They climbed and scrambled up a range of rocks and enjoyed climbing trees after lunch. Afterwards, they took a steady walk back to the grounds completing over 15,000 steps!

Miss Cotterill’s group went for a long walk, where they explored a number of mines and had fantastic views of the surrounding area, especially Plas Gwynant and the nearby lake! They did some scrambling and climbing as well as completing a massive 18,000 steps by the end of  the day! They finished their walk by having a paddle in the nearby stream!

We then got together, ate our evening meal and packed to return home. The children enjoyed buying items from the tuck and souvenir shop and finally finished the evening with a mass game of hide and seek before bed.

The children have thoroughly enjoyed their time at Plas and it has been fantastic to see their teamwork develop and new friendships evolve. They can’t wait to see you all tomorrow!
