We have had a brilliant day three here at Plas!
Today, we got up a little later as we already had already been introduced to our daily chores yesterday. We all got to work and were finished very quickly. Kev, who is one of our instructors, commented on what a fantastic job we had done! For breakfast, we had cereal and beans on toast. We then all made our sandwiches ready for the day and packed our lunches.
We spent the day again split into our groups again doing different activities, which were mentioned in the day two blog. Some of our children today went abseiling on the Plas grounds. Children learnt how to safely prepare to climb and abseil by getting their harness and helmet ready. They also learnt how to move their carabiner while climbing. Children were all very brave! After their first abseil down the rock face, they were became very confident and were all very eager to have another turn. They also practised their climbing skills by following a climbing course back up to the top of the rock face.
We then had our lunch and then made our way out to a lake for an afternoon of canoeing! The children have really enjoyed being in the water this week. They have all been kitted out in their very own waterproofs, which mean they can take part in all of the outdoor activities no matter the weather! Even though we expected rain today, we have had a lovely dry day with some sunshine!
When we arrived back from our various activities, children enjoyed a snack and some juice before going out to play on the grounds. For dinner we had sausage (pork/veg) with mash, carrot and yorkshire pudding. Kev then took us all up to the stream for an evening play in the water. Some swam, splashed and some of us rode the easy current!
Now, we are visiting the shop and writing our diaries before going to bed!
