Corona Virus School Updates and Home Learning
September 2021 Update
In line with current Government guidance, schools are fully open and children should attend regularly as required.
This is all part of the Government's roadmap out of lockdown which is outlined below. As part of this approach, schools are required to follow DfE 'Step 4' Operational Guidance (see attached below) which removes many restrictions during summer 2021. However, we are required to maintain an outbreak contingency plan in order to reintroduce enhanced restrictions in the case of an outbreak or change in advice which utilises the DfE Contingency Framework Guidance (also attached below). Therefore, on this page, you will find information about our procedures and protocols at Grove Vale in those circumstances.
If you have any questions then do not hesitate to get in touch with us via the main office.

It is extremely vital that we act vigilantly and work together to ensure everyone is safe.
Home Learning
Home learning will now be completed through a variety of ways depending on the scenario. Oak National Academy is just one of the websites that can be used to support children at home. Click the image to access the site. You may also want to access other additional home learning links here.
Reception
Home learning will be provided for reception via the app Tapestry. Staff are also using the Reception web page to upload their daily work. You can access the Reception page by clicking here.
Year 1 to 6
Home learning will be set through a home learning menu in scenario 1 or 2 (home learning plan), where individual children are isolating rather than a class or year group. In the even of a class or year group having to isolate, a timetable will be provided daily guiding pupils to work and online meetings for them to attend with their teachers and peers to further their support their learning from home. Home learning utilises a range of online resources and platforms that we use as a school and have provided log ins for children for and selected specifically for the individual child, class and year group.
Year 1 to 6 have been issued with their own personal Office 365 log ins. Here they will be able to communicate with their teachers and access learning that has been uploaded onto the Sharepoint (such as homework). Children will be given instructions here as to what is expected for any tasks set. They will be able to upload saved work into their folders on Office 365. In addition to this, as a school, we have access to numerous online learning portals where children will be asked to complete specific activities such as Purple Mash, Office 365, Language Angels, etc. The links for these can be found on the home learning links page, which can be found in the menu.
