This term, the Grove Vale Safety Team presented to the governors during one of their meetings. The children really enjoyed sharing information with the governors about all of the things that they do in school to keep themselves and each other safe. The children shared with the governors what their focus points had been for the year so far and some of the elements they were planning on addressing moving forwards. During the presentation, they also shared some of the ways that they are engaging other children. These included some of the competitions that they had set for their peers during the year.

Our governor, Mrs Gosal, is the focus member of our blog today. She has been a fantastic member of the governing body for many years and has worked alongside The Grove Vale Safety Team for the last two years. Every year, she attends meetings with the children to talk about safeguarding in school, including online safety in particular.

Mrs Gosal's thoughts about the presentation...

"I have been delighted to see how the Online Safety Team has grown over the last few months, the presentation given to the governors at the Pupil and Curriculum meeting was fantastic, with some of the newer members speaking so well.  The children spoke with such confidence and insight and passion  - it was a delight to listen to. Having met with the team a few times now, I am proud of their dedication to online safety and the way in which they are educating their peers on PEGI ratings and staying safe online.  They confidently answered questions and are a real asset to Grove Vale.  Keep up the good work!"
