After a short coach journey, we arrived at Edgmond Hall. Children then unpacked their belongings, made their beds, had a fire safety talk and a tour of the site.
After lunch, which was yummy pizza, we headed into the forest and got straight into Shelter Building. Children were put into groups and after a short demonstration were given the task to use what was on the ground to build their own durable, waterproof shelter. How did we test this? You guessed it, we poured 'rain' over the top while they were inside! Extra points were given for team work, resilience and creativity. Considering this was a very new skill to the children, they did incredibly well and are one step closer to surviving in the wild.

After a quick play we had dinner which was pasta in a delicious sauce with garlic bread. Once fed and energy levels were replenished, we spent our evening out in the forest again as twilight explorers, doing a night sensory walk through the enchanting woodland. The children were excited to make use of their torches to light the way and were encouraged to use all of their senses when exploring.

Once back and we had supper, everyone went to bed to get some well earned rest. Not after a bed time story of course.

We look forward to tomorrow for more fun-filled activities which will include archery and archaeology.
