Spellings for Year 2

All children will be provided with weekly spelling lists to practise. The words in this list may consist of words containing focused patterns or words from the Year 2 National Curriculum Statutory Spelling List. Spellings will be tested every Thursday. Please don't worry if your child is sent a different spelling list to their friend. All the children have been assessed and are issued with spellings which will be most beneficial to their writing.

Please ensure that as well as learning the spellings on the weekly list, you are also providing your child with an opportunity to use these words in sentences.
